Commission Regulation (EU) No. 581/2010 of July 1, 2010 on the maximum periods for downloading relevant data from vehicle units and driver cards, mentions the obligation to read data. Article 1 point 3 of the above regulation talks about the data reading period. We are obliged to read the driver card every 28 days, and the vehicle every 90 days. In practice, many companies, in order not to exceed this deadline, read the data earlier than the last day of this period. All data must be stored securely and prevented from being lost. This is stated in Article 1(4) of the Regulation.
Scope of data download
TachoTerminal offers the option of configuring data download. It is up to us to decide what data we will download to our reader. The read time depends on the configuration. In our reader we can download:
Special data from the tachograph,
Events and errors,
In addition, this reader will also read the driver card in the tachograph. The scope of data download depends only on us. We can set the reader, for example, for the last 90 days, but we can also read data from the date of the last download. If we need data from a specific time period, we are able to indicate the date range to be read.
